Officers are the glue which binds the SCA together and the oil that keeps it running. They are not paid to do their jobs and they are rarely professionals in their fields. They give freely of their time and efforts in order to make the SCA an enjoyable experience for all.
You may not wish to ever be an officer yourself, but there are many ways to help. Often there are many jobs to do. Ask the Officer responsible for the area you are interested in. You may find that the more you put into the SCA the more you get out of it.
To be an officer you must first be a paid member getting the Lochac newsletter, “Pegasus”. You can then apply for the office. Upcoming Officer vacancies or deputies are usually advertised in the local newsletter. An officer is usually warranted for a two year term. They are recommended by the previous officer (usually in consultation with other group officers) and are appointed by the Lochac Officer.
